Our Dogs: All are dual registered with UKC and the English Shepherd Club registries.
Gracie
UGRACH Johnson's Gracie-Ann Squier (UKC Grand Agility Champion and 2020-2021 All Star); AHBA JHD s, HCT; TDI and CGC. Also, with USDAA Agility: Performance Dog, Advanced Performance Dog, Starters Performance Standard , Advanced Performance Standard, and Starters Performance Relay.
Gracie is simply a great all around farm dog and family companion, who just seems to get better and better with age. She earned her Canine Good Citizen title on August 22, 2012. She completed her AHBA-HCT on July 13, 2014 and her Junior Herding Dog on May 28, 2016. She made a valiant effort on her AHBA HTAD-1, but between me and some very uncooperative sheep, she didn't qualify. I did get some good comments on her abilities.
Gracie easily passed her Therapy Dog International (TDI) test on September 28, 2019. She is a natural therapy dog.
Gracie started to practice agility in February 2018 at home. She had never attended a class when she participated at her first UKC trial March 3-4, 2018 and had 2 qualifying runs. Gracie earned her first UKC agility title, AG-1, on March 17, with a score of 198 (200 possible). She had a lot of fun participating and is an easy dog to take to trials, greeting folks and calmly staying in the crating area. She has never had a fear of the contacts (teeter and A frame) which helped her to quickly progress. She never saw a dog walk until the trial and walked it like a pro! Now we are focusing on her weave poles. Gracie earned two legs toward her AG-2 UKC agility title on Sunday, April 15, 2018 with a score of 195 and 199. She had to conquer her weave poles to accomplish this. She needs one more Q, but will have to wait until the Fall 2018 trials. There are few UKC trials in our area. Gracie earned her AG-2 title on November 24, 2018 and has begun her quest for championship points on November 24-25. Gracie earned her UACH (United Agility Champion) on April, 14, 2019 in Winchester, VA. She then earned her UACHX on October 2, 2020. It took her a bit to achieve the 12 weave poles, with a 6 foot distance from the handler. She is now on her way to earning her final title, UGRACH. She just needs a few more sets, which she will hopefully earn spring 2021. She was the top dog nationally, for UKC Agility 2 All Stars for 2020! What an honor for her!
Gracie earned her UKC UGRACH (Grand Champion) on Saturday, August 7, 2021! We are so proud of this dog who took 3 years 5 months and few opportunities for trials, to earn this as an older dog.
Gracie has been participating in the USDAA agility @Home program from late August 2020 till April 2021. So far, she has earned her Agility Dog, Advanced Agility Dog, Starters Standard Agility, and Advanced Agility Dog! She will probably not proceed to Masters because it is difficult for her to make the faster times. But, this is a wonderful accomplishment for a 9 year old dog who only started agility at age 6!
Gracie is 10 years old and is a clear sable daughter of Katy-Ann and Whiskey. She is both UKC and English Shepherd Club registered. Gracie is a very smart and athletic pup like her mother, but has a slightly stockier build. Gracie likes order and she protects her area, including her humans and her dog pack, putting special emphasis on keeping her pups in order. She is approximately 22 1/2" tall at this time and weighs 48 pounds. She is a great farm guardian, a "quiet" enforcer of the rules, vermin eradicator and just a sweetheart. She is very nurturing to all animals. Last year herding ducks, she immediately saw there was a very young duck in the group and gently pushed that duck along with her nose. Recently when my mother was visiting, she felt the need to jump into action to protect her when Miles was racing through the house past the chair my mother was seated in at the kitchen table. Gracie flew from an adjacent room and put herself between my mother and Miles, who meant no harm, and growled at him to protect my mother. Gracie also has good herding instincts and is working with sheep and has worked ducks. Gracie just gets better with age. My husband recently commented on her gate guarding when he was working inside a fenced area.
Gracie's hips are rated OFA Good and her 2013 CERF eye exam was very good . She is MDR1 normal/normal. She is also clear by DNA test for Collie eye anomaly, Degenerative myelopathy, Progressive retinal atrophy, and Progressive rod-cone degeneration.
5 of Gracie’s offspring have had hips scored. 4 are OFA Good and one is .32/.32 PennHIP. Gracie was spayed April 22, 2021.

Miles
Johnson's Miles Squier; AHBA HDAT1s, JHD s; TDI and CGC
Miles is a dad for the second time! On September 12, 2019, an 8 puppy litter (5 boys and 3 girls) arrived in Myersville, Maryland. McMunn's Princess Guppy is the wonderful mom. Puppy Walker, from Miles first litter, arrived on January 25, 2018. Mom is Brushwood's Moonshine.
Miles passed his TDI (Therapy Dog International) test on July 8, 2017.
Miles earned his AHBA HDAT Level 1 sheep on December 27, 2014, his Junior Herding Dog title on December 28, 2013 and his Canine Good Citizen title on June 20, 2012. Miles advanced to obedience level 3 class, and has now attended scent class. He is slow and steady, but always finds the scent.
Miles is 10 years old and is a black tri-color son of Katy-Ann and Whiskey. He is both UKC and English Shepherd Club registered. Miles is available for stud service to approved females. Miles has a very joyful personality and is a "large framed" pup. He is currently 24" + tall and a trim 65 pounds. He is marked very symmetrically which makes him very flashy. Miles is a very compassionate dog to other animals and his family. He is also very athletic, amazing us how agile he is for his size. He also has exhibited the "got your back" instinct when a threatening dog raced toward me at dog class.
Miles hips are OFA Fair and PennHip right 0.38/left 0.52. He is MDR1 normal/normal. He is also clear by DNA test for Collie eye anomaly, Degenerative myelopathy, Progressive retinal atrophy, and Progressive rod-cone degeneration. Miles was also tested for color. He is B/b (brown carrier) and E/e (clear sable carrier). So, if used for breeding to another B/b carrier or b/b, red tri or red bi pups would be possible. Also, if bred to a E/e or e/e, clear sable pups would be possible.

Recently he earned the USDAA agility Performance Dog Championship!
Red has been participating in the USDAA agility @Home program, and completed his Performance Dog Championship at live events on September 3/4, 2022.
Red earned his UKC UGRACH on Sunday, November, 10, 2019! He earned his UGRACH2 on October 4, 2020! His UGRACH3 was earned on April 18, 2021, his UGRACH4 in 2021 and his UGRACH5 in November 2021!
RED HAS EARNED HIS TOTAL ENGLISH SHEPHERD CHAMPIONSHIP (TES-CHAMPION) on December 5, 2017. Red is only the second English Shepherd to earn this title!
Red earnede another "High in Trial" on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Winchester, VA at the Paws for Fun trial 1. It was a monumental day for me, winning both "High in Trial" that day. His niece Lilly was the other winner (UKC does two trials per day). Photo here: Agility Photos. Red earned his UACHX (Excellent) title on November 24, 2018. He is now on his quest for his UGRACH championship title.
Red earned his UKC Agility Championship on April 1, 2017. Hurray Red! This will also qualify Red to apply for the Total English Shepherd-Champion, TES-CH. Red was also "High in Trial" for Trial 2. He did a wonderful job.
Red earned a "High in Trial" at the Dulles Gateway agility trial on March 17, 2018 while working toward a UKC UACHX title. Judge commented that he is a really nice dog.
Red is an extremely versatile boy and is eager to work alongside me, no matter the activity. He earned his Canine Good Citizen title on August 22, 2012. He earned his AHBA-HCT on July 13, 2014 and his AHBA HTAD Level 1 sheep on December 27, 2014. He earned 4 legs toward 2 C-WAGS (Canine Work and Games) scent titles on December 12., having the top time of 18 dogs in one leg of 7 seconds. He finished two legs earning his Level 1 Scent title on March 19, 2016. He earned his second level scent title on April 3, 2016. Red also earned 3 trick dog titles on November 14, 2015. We will continue to pursue his trick dog championship since Red has so many awesome skills. Watching him ride a skateboard was amazing! On November 22, 2015, Red earned his first agility title, UKC AG1. On March 6, 2016 he earned his second agility title, UKC-AG2. He is now working toward his championship, needing only 7 points as of March 5th, 2017. On November 26, he was High In Trial at his one UKC agility trial. On July 15, 2016 we were notified that Red had earned his English Shepherd Versatility titles: Versatility Ambassador, Versatility Emissary, Versatility Excellent, Versatility Ultimate and Total English Shepherd. He will now work toward the final level, which requires a championship. Red was only the second English Shepherd to get to this level as of July 15, 2016.
Redmond, "Red", is 10 years old and is a red tri-color or red and tan (according to members of the English Shepherd Club) and a son of Katy-Ann and Whiskey. He is both UKC and English Shepherd Club registered. Red is available for stud service to approved females. Red is tall (currently 22 1/2" ) and weighs 56 pounds with a very athletic build like his mother Katy-Ann. He loves to work for us, and he is truly an English Shepherd shadow. Red has good herding instincts and has worked with sheep. He is my agility dog and he is FAST. We love his beautiful green eyes, the white/lt. tan cross on his chest and his need to cuddle up at night to watch tv with the family! He is also a joy to take to dog events, waiting patiently between events and always getting along with other dogs, even those that have snapped in his face.
Redmond's Embark DNA test came back clear for all items tested and his hips are OFA Good. He was previously tested for these: He is MDR1 normal/normal. He is also clear by DNA test for Collie eye anomaly, Degenerative myelopathy, Progressive retinal atrophy, and Progressive rod-cone degeneration. In May 2019 his Embark DNA tests were received and he is clear for all items tested.
Red has sired two litters, both with 5 puppies, each with 1 female and 4 males. All are doing well. The first dam is Luna of Windy Hill and the second is Johnson's Lilly-Ann Squier. I retained two puppies from the last litter, Sam and Lizzy.

On March 4-5, Lilly earned her first UKC agility title, U-AG 1 (Level 1). She was awesome, earning all first places in her runs, except one, which was won by her brother. Lilly earned her UKC Agility Level 2 on March 3-4, 2018. She has not practiced much since September 2017, and did great at her return to agility.

Lilly really works to please us and is a very athletic dog like her grandmother, Katy-Ann. Lilly is 21 1/4" tall and weighs 50 pounds. She actively hunts and kills vermin. Lilly is one of the happiest dogs I have ever owned. She is a lively little girl and is as sweet as she looks.
On July 1, 2015 Lilly did very well at her informal herding instinct test. Lilly easily passed her HCT (Herding Capability Test) test on September 5, 2015 and most recently she passed her JHD (Junior Herding Dog) test on October 30, 2015 at 10 months old. The Luke was born on December 11, 2014. His parents are Gracie and Yukon (owned by Caroline Betts). Luke passed Obedience Level 1 and was enrolled in Obedience Level 2. He did not take the test for Obedience Level 2, due to my being able to handle only one dog at a time. He will take the test some time in the future. He passed his Canine Good Citizen test on October 21, 2015. Luke earned his Junior Herding Dog title on May 28, 2016. Luke is currently attending agility classes. On March 4-5, Luke earned his first UKC agility title, U-AG 1 and his second title IA on November 7, 2021. Luke earned 3 Do More With Your Dog Tricks Titles on April, 23, 2019. He earned his expert trick title in July, and is currently working towards his Championship Trick Title. Luke is currently working on his USDAA agility @home titles.
Luke has earned his AG1 and AG2 (now IA) agility titles from UKC. He has also been participating in USDAA@Home and has earned his Starters Performance Standard, Advanced Performance Standard and Performance Dog. He is one relay away from earning his Advanced Performance Dog.
Stunning, athletic Luke has a steady temperament, and loves playing with other dogs and people. We have nicknamed him Steady Lukie. He also really enjoys water and is practicing swimming with his life vest. It has been years since I have had a "water dog". He and his sister are such a joy to take to dog events. Luke stands at 23 1/2" and is 55 pounds. I was not going to retain a male from this litter, but Luke was special, and I couldn't let him go to another family.
PR or "Purple Ribbon" is a distinction the United Kennel Club (UKC ) gives to a dog if all 14 ancestors within a dog's three generation pedigree (parents, grandparents, great grandparents) are each registered with United Kennel Club.

UKC Agility Beginners and Intermediate (IA)
'PR' Johnson's Samuel Red Squier, was born on June 29, 2019, and is the son of Red and Lilly. Sam has successfully completed Puppy Kindergarten, and is enrolled in an agility class where he is doing well and is running Masters courses as a two year old!. He is our curly coated boy!
He is 23” at the shoulder and weighs 62 pounds. Sam competes in the USDAA live events and the USDAA @home agility program, as well as UKC agility. In USDAA agility he has earned his Starters Performance Standard, Advanced Performance Standard, Performance Dog, Advanced Performance Dog, Performance Standard Master, Performance Jumpers Master, Master Performance Dog and his Performance Dog Championship in November 5, 2022! Sam has also earned his Beginners and Intermediate UKC Agility titles and is working on his UACH.
Sam passed his UKC SPOT (Socialized Pet Obedience Test) and AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) tests this morning! He missed the top SPOT award at the last station, where he lost his stay, which we do all the time in agility, and I had to redo it, so no SPOT-ON, just SPOT. Otherwise he did really well, but I could tell he was a bit nervous. We don’t do obedience, so I was happy with his performance at an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people.
This is a description of Sam by another breeder, who spent time with Sam at their farm: “One of the sweetest good natured dogs I have had the true absolute pleasure to get to know and spend time with. He is kind, obedient, very smart, athletic. I love this dog. What a good boy! I love Sam, and so do all of my dogs. He has a winning personality.”
